Project title: Interactions of DNA structures with immune cells and tissue.
Project description: Objectives: (a) To determine how clustering of certain synapse proteins affect ion-channel current (b) To determine how the DNA can be optimally structured or chemically modified to avoid an immune response for drug delivery applications of DNA nanotechnology, including neuronal delivery. (c) To gain knowledge on how to tailor DNA/protein nanostructures for targeted delivery.Potential techniques: TEM, in-vivo mice studies, radiolabeling, ELISA, DNA-protein conjugation, primary human monocyte-derived macrophages model system (HMDM), cell viability assays, electrophysiology measurements.
Requirements: Candidate requirements: Applicants should have a Master’s Degree or equivalent, with a background in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physics, Chemistry or Computer Science, preferably a mixture of a few of the above subjects.
